Here is a link to the Jay Hupp presentation at a 2006 Bioenergy forum where he discusses the work he is doing for businesses that want to bring a biomass incinerator cogen plant to Shelton.
This link is the main site for the bioenergy forum, including other speakers, attendance list, etc.
Viewing Hupp's video at the main site requires Internet Explorer, but allow you to see Powerpoint slides in a separate window running next to his speech.

Duke Energy is listed at number 17 on the Toxic 100 Index
The Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) from the University of Massachusetts compiles an annual list of the top US polluters. This year Duke Energy is listed at number 17, and is reported to emit more than 75 million tons of pollutants annually.
60 Minutes Examines Duke Energy's Carbon Footprint
60 Minutes aired an interview with Jim Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy, called Powered by Coal. (Alternate URL for Powered by Coal.)
In the introduction, Scott Pelly states,
"A few days ago, the Obama administration declared, for the first time, that CO2 (carbon dioxide) is a threat to human health and it plans to impose limits."
In the interview Rogers stated, ""We are one of the major emitters (of CO2). ...Our goal line is substantially to reduce our carbon footprint, to de-carbonize our business, by 2050."
This admirable goal raises the question, why is ADAGE/Duke/Areva building new wood burning plants that will each release 248 tons of CO into the atmosphere every year?
And why isn't Duke Energy researching ways to capture and store carbon? When Scott Pelley asked Rogers how much Duke Energy has invested in carbon sequestration technology so far, Rogers said, "We have not invested any dollars in the technology, per say. We have spent a lot of time and money reviewing and analyzing the various technologies."
Cap and Trade
A Sensible Look at Cap and Trade
January 02, 2010 — Watch this entertaining video to understand how the cap n trade bill, the carbon offset etc. works. Its all a big scam that makes those who pollute LESS, pay MORE! One reason ADAGE is investing in biomass (besides the federal subsidies) is the opportunity to grandfather themselves in with Carbon pollution rights they can sell in the future.
